  • Sai Woo Lane & Queen’s Road West The Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) has completed the excavation of the up-track tunnel from Sai Woo Lane to Sheung Wan Station. Another set of TBM components is being delivered to Sai Woo Lane work site in stages for assemble, to prepare for the boring of the down-track tunnel. Excavation of the South Shaft is ongoing while vertical blasting of the shaft at Sai Woo Lane work site for the station entrance of Sai Ying Pun is planned to commence in May 2012 and complete in September 2012. Blasting works will be conducted up to two times per week under decking so as to minimize the impacts to nearby residents.

  • New Market Street The New Market Street grouting works were completed in January 2012. The road section has been temporarily re-opened in February 2012, and the road maintenance and reinstatement works will be carried out in end 2012 or early 2013.
  • Ko Shing Street, Li Sing St & Des Voeux Road West Demolition work of the Sheung Wan Station Overrun Tunnel will be carried out by Tunnel Dismantling Machine. Components of the machine have been delivered to the underground overrun tunnel and assembled. The machine will start the dismantling works in May 2012.
